Add a touch of home...

For my first blog I figured, "why not show them why I'm here?" In today's world it is so easy to go out and pick up birthday supplies from the store. Even easier is to sit at home and order them all online. I know that we all do not have the money needed to simply buy EVERYTHING we need for parties, or life in general. Recently my son celebrated his 1st birthday. (Big I know!) I created a one of a kind Mickey Mouse Birthday themed party for him that cost $0.00. No you did not read that wrong. It cost me absolutely nothing. I have always been crafty, and so I created it all with simple things I found around my house. Old construction paper, felt, decorative glasses... Absolutely everything was handmade. Of course I bought the candy but with the help of coupons the party cost very little. Best of all the memories of the day will surely live on through the gazillion pictures I took.

Now some may be thinking they could get better results if they had purchased their supplies from a business, but as a mother I know I receive much greater pride in knowing I did this specially for my son and the knowledge that one day he will look back and see how much I did just for him.

For me it is all about the little homemade touches you can add to your life. Whether it be decorations for a party, recipes for your family's dinner or fun crafts to pass the time on a rainy day. All of these things will be included in posts right here on my blog; Dani's Homemade Creations! If you have questions or ideas just send me a message or comment my post.
